TOPS INFORMATION 2012

ARIZONA's site for TOPs updates, test sites, dates, schedules and other TOPs related information.

During the summer, gymnasts are evaluated on physical abilities at the regional level. From the more than 3,000 participants, 300 gymnasts qualify to participate in the National TOPs testing. From here approximately 60 gymnasts will make up the TOPs National Team.  Former TOPs National Team members include 2004 Olympic All Around Champion, Carly Patterson, and 2004 Silver Team member Courtney Kupets. Those who qualify to the TOPS National Team will, once again, be invited to attend a training camp this December, and be coached by the USA Gymnastics National Team staff. 

CHANGES to the 2012 TOP STATE TESTINGS

Please note the following:   7 year olds will only test physical abilities at the state level, they will not have any skill testing. 

There is no vault testing at the state level for any ages.   Vault will only be tested at the National level.

• There will now be skills testing at the State level.  Please click on the link for more information.  The State Skills have been slightly altered since the initial release of the skills. Please make note of the changes.

• The following are the only Physical Abilities that will be tested at the State level:  Click on the above link for a more detailed description of each test.  THE SPRINT TEST HAS BEEN ELIMINATED AS of 3/26/12.

Handstand Hold ~ For all athletes 7-10 will be 30 seconds

TOP 2012 Testing Registration

Any TOP results submitted to USAG that have not gone through proper channels will NOT be tabulated!

There will be no parent viewing allowed at any of the AZ TOP Regional Testing Sites.

Arizona Regional Testing sites and dates:

Registration will close once test is full.

Registration will close one week prior to test date - No Late Entries
