TOPS RESULTS 2005

During the summer, gymnasts are evaluated on physical abilities at the regional level. From the more than 3,000 participants, 300 gymnasts qualify to participate in the National TOPs testing. From here approximately 60 gymnasts will make up the TOPs National Team.  Former TOPs National Team members include 2004 Olympic All Around Champion, Carly Patterson, and 2004 Silver Team member Courtney Kupets. Those who qualify to the TOPS National Team will, once again, be invited to attend a training camp this December, and be coached by the USA Gymnastics National Team staff. 

2005 9-11 TOPs National Team Members 

Indicates that the athlete qualified to attend the T.J. Maxx National TOP Training Camp in December.  All expenses for the athlete is paid for by USA Gymnastics. 

2005 9-11 TOPs B Camp Qualifiers 

Indicates that the athlete qualified to attend the T.J. Maxx National TOP B Camp in December.  The athlete and coach are responsible for all expenses for this camp including air transportation. 

2005 7-8 Year Old TOPs Results

Diamond Level:   Indicates that the athlete has scored between 90.0 -70.0 from the State TOP Testing and has qualified a coach from her club to attend the National TOP Training Camp in December.  USA Gymnastics pays for Room and Board for the coach.  Room and Board will be paid for one coach per club regardless of the number of athletes that have qualified to the Diamond Level from that club.  Athletes will receive the National TOP Team Apparel.  This apparel will be distributed to the coaches at the National TOP Training Camp.

Gold Level:   Indicates that the athlete has scored between 67.9 - 62.0 (the qualification score for a 9 year old to National TOP Testing).  These athletes will receive a National TOP Testing tee shirt to either be distributed to the coaches at the National TOP Testing or to be sent to the club via the mail.
